I’m currently temporarily living in a serviced apartment (aka corporate housing) in Canada. I am paying rent by the month based on a daily rate, which includes maid service twice a week.
Back home, I have a maid clean my home once a week, and since I hired her myself and pay her directly, I don’t tip her.
Whenever I stay in hotels, I always tip the maid. But the serviced apartment I’m staying in is more like an apartment rental than a hotel in many ways.
Given my situation, should I be tipping the maid?

I would say no. She is being paid by the apartment complex. If you really want to, then by all means…. Just know that it is not a requirement.
Yes. She’s still providing the service, the same as if you were in a hotel.
yes and on occasion give here tickets to a movie.
i would say that you should leave her a few dollars every week but not tip daily.. especially if you ever make a big mess or ask for special treatment..
